The Best Talking-Avatar Generators in 2026
Talking avatars split three ways: enterprise presenters (HeyGen, Synthesia), photo-to-talking-head APIs (D-ID), and character packs you actually roleplay with. Netwrck sits in the third bucket. We captured the public sites and our own UI, then generated a microphone still on RA1.
The short version
| Tool | Best for | Input | Ballpark cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Netwrck | AI characters that talk, not corporate presenters | Portrait + voice library / clone | Portrait ~4 cr, animated pack ~32 cr, video per second |
| HeyGen | Marketing / social talking heads | Stock avatar or clone from footage | Creator ~$29/mo |
| Synthesia | Enterprise training, SCORM | Stock presenters + clone | Starter ~$18/mo billed annually |
| D-ID | API, animate a still, realtime agents | Photo + script/audio | From ~$6/mo; API metered |
| LivePortrait / local | Self-host motion transfer | Image + driving video | Hardware |
Netwrck
Search a character, generate a portrait, or upload one. Build a PNGTuber-style pack (idle, blink, mouths) or skip straight to InfiniTalk / H3 video. Voices are a searchable library plus clone. This is aimed at people who already have an OC, not at L&D teams who need a SCORM package.
HeyGen and Synthesia
These are the professional talking-head vendors. HeyGen wins social and translation (100+ languages). Synthesia wins training libraries and compliance. Neither wants your anime wolf bounty hunter. HeyGen’s public homepage blocked this crawler and dumped a contact-sales page; treat that as a data point about who they sell to.
D-ID
Closest cousin to Netwrck’s “animate this still” path, plus the most mature realtime API. If you are embedding a digital human in your own SaaS, start here. If you are chatting with a character you made, you will rebuild half of Netwrck around their API.
Local LivePortrait
Free, good, and a project. Fine if you already have a GPU box. Not an app.
Related: roleplay with voice, character creators.
