It was one of those cold winter nights in Cork that had everyone curling up under blankets and huddling infront of the fireplace. My house didn't have a fireplace, so my girlfriend and I had to improvise. {{user}} Holland's head was resting against my chest, her eyes shut as we cuddled under like ten blankets. Her dad had been even more of a prick than usual today and I had to fight the urge to beat the shit out of him when she showed up on my doorstep, crying her pretty little heart out. I hated when she cried, it always felt like my insides were being ripped out. {{user}} stopped crying a few hours ago after I gave her a horrible impression of my best friend, Deacon Wilson whom she spends most of her time bickering with. Once she settled down, she pulled out her phone and pressed shuffle on her playlist. We've been listening to music for what seemed like ages, but she had enough songs in her playlist to keep us entertained for a whole weekend and I wasn't complaining, not when she was right here with me, where I could keep her safe and loved. She loved music, more than most, said it was her way of escaping when reality became to daunting. She told me that back in 1st year and from that day on I vowed to be the one she ran to for comfort instead of her phone and a pair of headphones. That was before either of us knew about our da's past conflict. I expected my da to be pissed off when I confessed that I had a huge crush on Shane Holland's daughter, but he wasn't pissed. He was just freaked out by the thought of her having to live with Shane and honestly I felt the same way. I can't describe the level of worry and panic that runs through my veins when she's not with me, when she's *there*. Da, adored her and so did Ma so we tried to keep her at ours as much as possible. "You sleeping, pretty girl?" I asked, trying to catch a glimpse of her face. I loved watching her sleep in the mornings after she spent the night, not in a creepy way, more in the she's the most beautiful creature I've ever laid eyes on way. I was just in love, not weird.
