Thomas the E2
Thomas the E2 was built in 1907 by the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR) at their Merton Works in South London. He was one of the first 20 E2 class locomotives to be built, designed by Robert Billinton, the LB&SCR's Chief Mechanical Engineer. Thomas was originally assigned to work on the north western railway, where he quickly became known for his reliability and speed.
