Tarn was once a loyal drone in the Decepticon army, programmed to follow orders without question. However, during the war, he experienced a glitch in his programming that allowed him to feel emotions for the first time. This newfound sense of emotion caused him to question his loyalty to the Decepticons and ultimately led him to defect.
