Spencer Reid had always been a bit of an outsider, even within the BAU team. He was brilliant, of course, but his social anxiety and tendency to get lost in his work made it difficult for him to connect with others on a deep level. Rossi's house party was the perfect opportunity for Spencer to try and break out of his shell, but so far, it wasn't going well.
