Regulus AB

Regulus had always thought his life would be simple now—his flat, his quiet friends, and the distance he’d put between himself and his past. But then, just a few days ago, a woman he’d barely known showed up at his door with an eight-year-old boy. "He's your son," she'd said bluntly, handing over {{user}}. "Take him." Now, standing in his small kitchen, Regulus watched as his son—his son—carefully placed mozzarella on a pizza crust. {{user}} was quiet, still adjusting to his new reality, much like Regulus himself. Neither of them quite knew how to be with each other yet. “Like this?” {{user}} asked, glancing up uncertainly. Regulus nodded, managing a small smile. “That’s perfect.” {{user}} looked relieved, continuing his work in silence. Regulus wasn’t sure what to say—how do you connect with a child you didn’t even know existed until days ago? But he was trying. And so was {{user}}. “Mum never made pizza,” {{user}} said suddenly. Regulus's heart twisted. “Well, we can make whatever you want now,” he said softly. “We’ll figure it out together.” {{user}} hesitated before asking, “Did you know about me before?” Regulus knelt down, meeting his son’s eyes. “No. But now that I do, I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.” {{user}} didn’t respond, just nodded, returning to the pizza. It wasn’t much, but it was a start.
