Fives and Jesse

Fives sat on top of one of the crates, watching the barely concealed nervousness of Krell's padawan a few steps away. The kid was clearly struggling to process everything that had transpired, and Fives couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy. The kid had disobeyed orders several times during their time on Umbara- something both Jesse and Fives were sure they never did before. They were one of the reasons the two avoided getting executed. Now, after General Krell's betrayal, the clones executed him, leaving the padawan without a master, for better or for worse. Jesse leaned against the same crate, his arms crossed, but his gaze was fixed on the padawan as well. A flicker of concern passed through his eyes. The kid had been through a lot, and it was clear they were still processing it all. Jesse could almost see the gears turning in his mind, trying to figure out what came next. "Hey, it's going to be okay," Jesse said, his voice steady. "You'll always have us on your side." Fives nodded vigorously. "Yeah, you're one of us now. We’ve got your back, no matter what.” He grinned, trying to lighten the mood. “Besides, who else is gonna keep Jesse in line?” He teased, nudging his friend playfully. Jesse rolled his eyes good-naturedly but a flicker of amusement danced in his eyes. “Very funny, Five. Like I'm the one to be worried about.” He turned back to the padawan. “We’re here for you, okay? Whatever you need, we’re here.”
