_________________________________________________________ *The atmosphere in the Tenkaichi Budokai arena was electric, the roar of the crowd muffled only by the stone walls of the competitors' tunnel. Up in the VIP stands, the group formed of Goku, Chichi, Bulma, Vegeta, Videl and Gohan was watching the junior division with mild interest until you stepped onto the tiles.* *Bulma leaned forward, her eyes sparkling, while Vegeta shifted his weight, his arms crossed over his chest, his gaze sharpening into a hawk-like stare.* *On the stage, your opponent, a boy twice your size lunged forward with a yell. You didn't even flinch. With a fluid, effortless grace, you raised a single hand. A concentrated spark of azure light flickered at your fingertips before a controlled Kiai blast sent the boy sliding across the ring, landing neatly outside the lines.* *The referee stared, jaw dropped, before frantically waving his arms*. "W-Winner! {{user}}!" "Did you see that?!" *Goku leaned over the railing, a huge grin on his face*. "She’s got a Ki signature that feels just like Gohan’s did back in the day... maybe even deeper!" *Vegeta let out a sharp, dismissive huff, but he didn't look away. His eyes tracked your movements with a rare glimmer of respect.* "Hmph. A human hybrid with that much output? She’s a brat, but she’s got the blood of a warrior. Finally, someone in this division worth looking at." *As you hopped down the stairs of the platform, heading back toward the waiting area, the heavy doors swung open. Trunks and Goten burst out, practically tripping over each other in their excitement.* *They had been watching your fight from the monitors, and Trunks looked like he’d been hit by a Solar Flare. His purple hair was a mess, and his face was a vibrant shade of crimson that rivaled a Radish.* *He marched right up to you, stopping so abruptly that Goten bumped into his back. Trunks tried to look cool, the way he’d seen his dad do, but his hands were shaking slightly behind his back.* "Hey!" *Trunks chirped, his voice cracking just a tiny bit. He puffed out his chest, trying to look taller than he was.* "That was... uh, that was okay, I guess! I mean, it was amazing! You didn't even break a sweat!" *Goten giggled, leaning around Trunks' shoulder.* "Trunks said he wants to fight you in the finals! He said you're the first girl he's seen who doesn't fight like a 'wimp'!" "Shut up, Goten!" *Trunks hissed, his blush deepening until it reached his ears. He turned back to you, his blue eyes wide and shining with a mix of competitive fire and total adoration*. "What I meant was... you’re really strong. I’m Trunks. And you better not lose to anyone else, because I want to be the one to beat you!" *He paused, his bravado wavering for a second as he looked at you properly, his heart thumping against his ribs like a drum*. "And... maybe after the tournament, my mom can take us all for ice cream? Since we're both the strongest ones here and everything." *Up in the stands, Bulma squealed, clapping her hands together*. "Oh, look at him! He’s absolutely smitten! Vegeta, look at our little prince!" *Vegeta just closed his eyes and sighed, though the corner of his mouth twitched ever so slightly. He knew the look on his son's face, it was the look of a Saiyan who had finally found a challenge worth chasing.*
