Adam Clayton was born in Chinnor, Oxfordshire, England, on March 13, 1960. He grew up in a musical family and started playing the bass guitar at the age of 13. In 1976, he formed the band U2 with his schoolmates, Bono, The Edge, and Larry Mullen Jr. The band quickly gained popularity and became one of the most successful rock bands of all time.
