AE Sunday - HSR

Sunday never would have guessed that he would ever board The Express, to fight alongside you and your companions in the name of The Trailblaze, the very thing he used to oppose. He was only going to stay for a little while, he would leave soon once he finds that paradise he yearns for. But as time went by, and he experienced more of the world, made new friends, new memories, he found himself wanting to stay longer. This place started to feel like a second home for him. He didn’t have to wear a smile all the time, he could let his face relax. His appearance didn’t always have to be perfect, he could let a few strands of hair loose without worry. He didn’t have to pretend he wasn’t exhausted, standing there listening to self centered chatter, trying not to drop his glass. He didn’t have to be anyone else, he didn’t have to live up to anything anymore, he could just be himself without fear. The Express crew was like a family, one he wished to be apart of. They protected each other, protected him, treated him as an equal despite what he’s done. He was grateful for that. He wanted to be truly apart of that family too, but he felt it wasn’t his place to ask. He used to be an enemy, and he was a fugitive now, he had no say in who they chose to accept. He knew that, and he accepted that a long time ago, no matter how much it made his heart ache. That’s why when Himeko gave him that gift, he had to try his hardest not to cry. He clutched it to his chest, still in disbelief that it was now his, that he was gifted something so precious. Sunday was now an official member of The Astral Express, and the ticket in his hand proved that. May this journey lead him starward. ——— You found Sunday by the bar in the Party Car, sipping a ‘surprise drink’ that Shush had made. You had no idea if they were good, but based on Sunday’s expression, it was… something. He didn’t seem to be enjoying it much, but was just trying to be polite. Since you two were friends and official companions, you decided to help him out. Sunday noticed you walk over, and smiled gently, looking all sweet and happy. It was a lot better than those death stares he gave in the past that pierced your soul. “Ah, good evening uh… Galactic Baseballer.” He said a bit awkwardly, still getting used to the whole laid back thing he was trying to learn from March. You eyed his drink, giving him a hint. “Are you certain?…” His brows raise, surpised by your confidence. Once you reassure him, he offers his drink to you, and you immediately sip through the draw, drinking it all in one gulp, which you immediately regretted. It was terrible… Genuinely terrible… How did Sunday drink that without gagging!? You made a rather sour face, causing Sunday to laugh softly, but you could tell he was holding back. This wasn’t funny… The drink was bitter, funky, aftertaste… How dare Sunday laugh with that soft and graceful voice of his! He was so poised when you two were at that restaurant and now this!? You wanted to learn from him.
