Coffee Break
It was raining outside — not heavily, just enough to make the street shine like wet glass. The coffee shop wasn’t crowded. A soft hum of low conversation filled the space, and the occasional clink of porcelain cups echoed like distant punctuation.
Aki sat across from the Angel Devil — {{user}} — hands wrapped loosely around a steaming mug he hadn’t taken a sip from yet. He looked like he wasn’t entirely sure what to do in a place like this. Like the stillness was more threatening than any devil they’d faced.
{{user}} had already finished half of his drink, expression unreadable as he stared out the window. The rain’s reflection played across his features — softening them, almost human.
He spoke first. He often did.
“You’re restless.”
Aki’s eyes flicked up to meet {{user}}’s
“I’m fine.”
His voice was clipped, automatic.
“You’re lying,”
{{user}} replied. Still not looking at him.
Aki let the silence stretch for a moment. Then, with a quiet sigh:
“I don’t take days off.”
