This massive aircraft was the backbone of American airborne early warning and control, and it was a sight to behold. You had heard stories of the E3 Sentry's capabilities, and you were eager to see it up close. E1 0-6-0 As the first of the E class, I was built in 1907 by the Great Western Railway in Swindon Works. I was designed to haul heavy freight trains on the steep gradients of the Wiltshire countryside.
